Honey Jumbles in the garden with Kobe & Her girls
There are moments in photography that feel less like work and more like pure, unfiltered joy. This past week, I had the pleasure of spending a morning with fellow photographer Kobe, whom I met at the inspiring Emma Wand workshop. Our session was nothing short of magical, filled with laughter and the sweet chaos that only little ones can bring.
Kobe's three children, Florence, Daisy, and Sage, were a dream to capture. Their energy and spirit brought every frame to life. We began our day with a treat from Burnt Honey Bakery, known for having the best baked goodies in Bateau Bay. The kids' faces lit up with delight as they devoured the delicious cookies, setting a perfect tone for the session.
Our adventure continued in the garden, where we picked fresh basil. The kids' hands eagerly reached for the green leaves, their giggles filling the air. It was a simple yet profound reminder of the beauty in everyday moments, something I always love to capture in my work.
But the fun didn’t stop there. We moved on to doing cartwheels & ballet on the lawn! Their laughter echoed through the open space, and then into the studio where they cuddled and were so present with each other.
We were fortunate enough to photograph at Merrin's stunning home, The Collectors Studio. This original beach shack near Bateau Beach provided a picturesque backdrop, with its charming, nostalgic vibe perfectly complementing the warmth and candidness of our session. I really enjoyed our session at this amazing location- if you are keen for a little holiday this is the spot The Collectors Studio and is 1hr 30 minute drive from Sydney.
This day was a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do. Capturing these fleeting moments, the ones that seem so mundane yet hold so much magic, is what fuels my passion. Thank you, Kobe, Florence, Daisy, and Sage, for a day filled with fun, laughter, and cherished memories. And a special thanks to Merrin for opening up her lovely home to us. It was a session I’ll hold close to my heart for a long time.
